Lulu is an Australia Awards scholar from Indonesia, currently pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the Australian National University’s Crawford School of Public Policy. She is a part-time Research Assistant at the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership and was previously a Research Associate at MIT’s Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) Southeast Asia, where she worked on projects related to social protection, labor, and healthcare. Before joining J-PAL, she served as a Research Assistant to several professors at New York University (NYU). Her capstone project on Indonesian migrant women workers in the United Arab Emirates was nominated for the Best Capstone Award. She graduated from New York University with a BA in Public Policy. After graduation, she was selected as the Dean’s Fellow, working with the university’s student affairs leadership team on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Lulu co-founded SafeSpace Indonesia, an organization that fosters inclusive dialogue and collaboration through open expression. SafeSpace has partnered with think tanks, art consultants, and education organizations, and has been featured in The Jakarta Post, Indonesia’s leading English-language newspaper, Detik, one of the country’s most widely read news portals, and more.
