I have a background in Midwifery and hold a Master's degree in Public Health with a focus on Reproductive Health. After four years working in a professional midwifery organization as midwifery technical staff, I have learned many things, for example, being involved in formulating midwifery education and competency standards, joining many discussions about maternal and child health issues with related stakeholders, etc. Then, I expanded my career range into a non-government organization (NGO) that focused on maternal and child health as program coordinator. During my work, my team and I have developed mind mapping to identify factors that contributed to family planning services and counseling to pinpoint the main levers for expanding postpartum family planning (PPFP) services through the development of a systems map with key stakeholders. This activity specifically engaged health providers (ObGyn, midwives, nurses), hospital management team, National Health Insurance, Family Planning Nasional Board, Ministry of Health of Indonesia, and family planning field officers at the community level. Through Focus Group Discussions and using a system map (specifically a causal loop diagram) to visualize relationships between dependent and independent variables around particular issues, we could define the causes, effects, and main problems of family planning services in hospitals. My goal is to leverage my experience and knowledge to support evidence-based project development, advocate for improved public health policies, and strengthen collaborations with government agencies, NGOs, and stakeholders. In addition to my organizational work, I plan to become an independent lecturer to inspire future public midwives while engaging in impactful research. I also aim to contribute to enhancing the quality and accreditation of IBI’s Midwife Scientific Journal, where I currently serve as an editor, by improving article quality through stronger research insights. Ultimately, I am committed to driving meaningful change in reproductive health through education, advocacy, and research.
